A student’s Language A is their mother tongue, or best language. At BSJ, students can take the Literature course in either English, Korean or Indonesian.
Literature is a traditional subject well regarded for entry into a number of university courses eg English Literature, Arts courses in general and Law. It shows a command of the use and communication of English, Korean or Indonesian.
The subject briefs below are for the English courses. Korean and Indonesian courses will be taught in the target language and the texts will be different, but the assessment and objectives are the same.
It is also possible for a student to take a Language A course as ‘school-supported self-taught’. This means a student can take a language we do not offer at BSJ, on a self-study basis. The course assessment is slightly different in this case. Talk to the IB Coordinator if this is an option for you.
